Heeseung not to take part in ENHYPEN's Melbourne performance
K-pop idol Heeseung, who was recently announced to chart a solo career, will not be participating in ENHYPEN’s performance in a music festival in Melbourne, Australia.
Concert promoter Applewood made the announcement on March 14.
“We would like to inform you that Heeseung will not take part in the 2026 [안녕, Melbourne] Music Festival scheduled for March 14,” it said.
The music festival will be held at the Flemington Racecourse and will also feature K-pop boy band Treasure and singer Taemin of SHINee.
It added, “We ask for your understanding regarding this change and appreciate your continued support for ENHYPEN as they prepare to meet fans at the upcoming performance.”
The announcement came after Belift Lab, ENHYPEN’s agency, surprised fans when it announced on March 10 that Heeseung will be leaving ENHYPEN and have a solo career.
“Belift Lab has given much thought and consideration into ENHYPEN's future direction and goals. Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it. As such, Heeseung HEESEUNG will be parting ways with ENHYPEN, and ENHYPEN will continue official activities henceforth as a group of six members,” the agency said.
This did not sit well with fans who launched the petition, “Allow Heeseung to Pursue Solo Activities Without Leaving ENHYPEN,” on Change.org.
“Allow Heeseung to release his solo album while remaining a member of ENHYPEN. Support parallel group and solo activities, as is common across the industry,” the petition asked Belift Lab and HYBE.
The petition was signed by 1.35 million people as of this writing.
