Man arrested for cursing, threatening barangay watchmen with knife in Rizal
A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly cursing and threatening barangay watchmen with a knife while they were patrolling and implementing curfew hours in San Mateo, Rizal early Tuesday, March 10.
According to the San Mateo Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. while the barangay watchmen were conducting patrol and implementing curfew hours inside a subdivision in Barangay Gulod Malaya.
While on duty, they noticed the suspect roaming around the area, prompting them to introduce themselves and confront him.
However, they said the suspect suddenly became angry, pulled out a knife, and cursed at the barangay watchmen, shouting, “Wala akong pakialam kung mga barangay tanong kayo, saksakin ko kayo (I do not care if you are barangay watchmen, I will stab you!)” before continuing to hurl further curses at them.
The suspect was immediately arrested, and the knife was confiscated from his possession.
He is currently at the San Mateo Municipal Police Station and may face charges for violating Article 151 (Unjust Vexation) and Batas Pambansa Blg. 6 (BP 6).
