BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region has received 190 new personnel to reinforce their commitment to public safety and strengthen law enforcement capability and operational readiness.
One-hundred were from the PRO-6 (Western Visayas) and and 90 from PRO-7 (Central Visayas).
Police Lt. Col. Joem Malong, PRO-NIR spokesperson, said they will be strategically distributed to various police units in Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
Malong said that each unit will benefit from strengthened manpower, allowing them to intensify crime prevention operations, boost police visibility, and enhance response capabilities, ultimately reinforcing the region’s ability to maintain peace, uphold public safety, and address security challenges more effectively.
Their reassignment will enable PRO-NIR to better position to expand its operational reach and deliver faster, more responsive police services to communities across the region, while supporting ongoing anti-criminality campaigns, community engagement efforts, and public safety operations, Malong said.
Malong said this reinforcement reflects the Philippine National Police’s continuing commitment to ensure that police units in the NIR remain adequately staffed and capable of addressing evolving security challenges.
