Military finds P6.8-B abandoned shabu in Occidental Mindoro

CAMP NAKAR, Lucena City – The military recovered suspected shabu valued at P6.8 billion in an abandoned speedboat in Sitio Agbalite, Barangay Harrison, Paluan, Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, March 10.
The Armed Forces Southern Luzon Command said troops discovered the contraband following information from a concerned citizen regarding a twin-engine speedboat that
ran aground in the area.
Found were 43 sacks of suspected shabu, one Star Link communication device, eight hand flares (bengala), three
fire extinguishers, four batteries, two life jackets, and two life buoys.
Authorities said these have been secured and they emphasized that the exact weight, composition, and valuation of the recovered substance remain subject to verification and laboratory examination by appropriate law enforcement agencies.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
