ENHYPEN members say they support Heeseung's choice to leave group
The remaining six members of K-pop boy band ENHYPEN said they support Heeseung’s decision to leave the group.
Belift Lab announced on March 10 that Heeseung will be leaving ENHYPEN and will release a solo album under theagency.
It said ENHYPEN will continue with six members: Sunghoon, Jay, Jake, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-Ki.
“We think ENGENE (fandom) was very surprised by today's announcement. We were most worried about how ENGENE would feel. Since ENHYPEN always exists for ENGENE, seeing ENGENE worrying and having a hard time is the greatest pain for us,” they said.
They added, “The time we've spent together so far has been so precious that words can't describe it. That's why we respect and support Heeseung's choice and new beginning.”
“ENHYPEN will continue to grow even more to ease ENGENE’s worries even a little and to create happy days for ENGENE,” ENHYPEN said.
The change in ENHYPEN came after more than five years since they debuted in the music scene on Nov. 30, 2020 with the album “Border : Day One.”
Heeseung, 24, is the oldest member of ENHYPEN.
On March 10, Heeseung addressed the announcement by Belift Lab.
“I've spent a long time sharing the results of my work with the company and discussing the best way to present them. After much deliberation, I've made the bold decision to follow the direction the company has suggested and return to you, ENGENEs, with a better side of myself,” he said in a post on the Weverse app.
He added, “As you all know, I've been working on my personal projects, dedicating a lot of time to show you what I can do. There was so much I wanted to show you, but I also didn't want to let my own ambitions take precedence within the team.”
“I understand your concerns and various stories. I will work hard to meet you again soon. My desire to return with a better image is more sincere than anyone else's,” he said.
