Grassroots sports take center stage as the Vermosa Victory Games unfolds on March 21 and 22 at the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub in Cavite, gathering young athletes for a two-day tournament powered by Xmplr Sports.
The event is expected to draw around 1,000 participants competing in cheerdance, football, and swimming.
Xmplr Sports founder Robbie De Vera said the tournament reflects their long-term vision of developing grassroots competition for young athletes.
“We always envisioned putting together a premier large-scale grassroots tournament. We're thankful for the confidence and trust the Ayala estate has given to us to mount this event,” said De Vera.
The inaugural tournament is open to both school-based and club-based teams across the country.
Cheerdance will have high school and college divisions, while football will feature boys’ and girls’ categories for athletes aged 17 and under, with nine divisions across different age brackets. Swimming, meanwhile, will include individual and medley races.
Trophies, medals, and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, while the champion of the football tournament will represent Ayala in the Inter-Ayala Land Football Cup at the end of this year.
Vermosa Sports Hub general manager Lani Tan also expressed her vision of expanding the role of the sports complex in developing athletes and hosting more events in the future.
“Aside from the infrastructure, we want to evolve to more than that. We want to expand,” said Tan.
