The Quezon City government will implement a four-day onsite workweek for non-frontline staff, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to reduce energy consumption in government offices.
The work-from-home setup will take effect every Monday, while regular onsite operations will continue from Tuesday to Friday for administrative and clerical employees.
All basic and essential services will continue to operate from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to ensure that our residents will not experience any disruption in government transactions,” the city government said in a statement on Tuesday, March 10.
Meanwhile, frontline offices responsible for critical services—including health programs, law enforcement, social services, and business and tax-related transactions—will continue to operate normally.
“We understand that the city government’s services should never be impeded. Even with the implementation of a one-day work-from-home arrangement for administrative and clerical employees, our programs and services will remain fully available to our residents,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.
Under the setup, internal meetings among departments will be conducted virtually, while in-person seminars and training sessions will be temporarily postponed until further notice.
The city’s Human Resource Management Department will monitor employees under the remote work arrangement to ensure that productivity and performance standards are maintained.
