The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested a man allegedly involved in a shooting incident in Valenzuela City during an anti-criminality operation on Tuesday, March 10.
Police identified the suspect as “Raymond,” 35, a resident of Barangay Malinta, Valenzuela City. He was apprehended by personnel of the Cubao Police Station (PS 7).
Authorities said the suspect was linked to a shooting incident that reportedly occurred around 10 p.m. on March 9 in Valenzuela City, prompting nearby police districts to conduct checkpoint and dragnet operations.
While patrolling along Harvard Street in Barangay E. Rodriguez Sr., Cubao, police officers were approached by a concerned citizen who reported a suspicious man in the area.
The citizen told authorities that the man allegedly admitted he had shot someone in Valenzuela City.
Police later located the suspect and arrested him at about 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10.
The suspect was subsequently brought to the Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) for further investigation.
QCPD chief PBGen. Randy Glenn Silvio commended the public for helping authorities in the arrest.
“The vigilance of our citizens plays a vital role in maintaining peace and order in the community. With the help of the public and the swift response of our police officers, we were able to arrest the suspect.
