IU, Byeon Woo-seok star in K-romcom 'Perfect Crown' coming to Disney+ in April
Korean stars IU and Byeon Woo-seok will make their on-screen debut together in the series “Perfect Crown.”
“Perfect Crown,” a Korean romantic comedy, will premiere on Disney+ on April 10.
The K-series follows the people’s favorite royal, Grand Prince I-an who becomes embroiled in a power struggle with other members of the royal family.
With pressure on the prince to wed, he forges a marriage of convenience with Huiju (IU), the heir to a Korean conglomerate.
As the two work together to advance their own ends, emotions begin to flare and things don’t go quite as smoothly as planned.
The series is set in a reimagined 21st century where Korea operates under a constitutional monarchy.
IU (“When Life Gives You Tangerines,’’ “My Mister”) is Huiju, the second in line to inherit one of Korea’s biggest conglomerates, and Byeon Wooseok (“Lovely Runner,” “Strong Girl Nam-soon”) is Grand Prince I-an.
The series is directed by Park Joonhwa (“Alchemy of Souls,” “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim”) and is written by Yoo Jiwon.
“Perfect Crown” was one of the shows unveiled during the Disney+ Originals Preview 2025 in Hong Kong last November.
