The Association for Philippines-China Understanding Inc., (APCU) is now accepting nominees to award individuals who are promoting good relations between the two sides.
APCU held the Launching of Award for Promoting Philippines-China Understanding (APPCU 2026) at the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Association of the Philippines Foundation (FFCAP) Building in Muelle de Binondo in Manila on March 6.
Nominations are now open.
Organized in 2020 by former Education secretary Alejandro Roces and former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the awarding is aimed at advancing the relations between the Philippines and China, which cover various aspects, such as education and people-to-people exchanges.
According to the organization, APPCU is also "a novel award-giving body paying special tribute to Filipinos who made efforts through time in promoting friendly ties and mutual understanding between the Philippines and China."
"In coordination with the Chinese Embassy, tentatively mid June...depending on the availability of the venue for the Awards night," APCU chairman and president Raul Lambino said.
"We are now accepting nominees of Filipinos in five categories who are fostering, strengthening China-Philippines understanding," he added.
