Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte is encouraging residents to take advantage of the local government’s online services and free transportation programs to help ease the impact of higher transport costs.
Mayor Belmonte said the city’s digital platform allows residents to access various government services without having to travel, helping them save both time and money.
“We understand that rising fuel and transportation costs can put additional pressure on many families,” she said in a statement on Monday, March 9.
“That is why we encourage our QCitizens to maximize our online services so they can transact with the city government quickly and conveniently, without the need to travel,” she added.
The mayor highlighted the city government’s QC E-Services portal, which offers more than 160 services covering 34 programs.
Through the platform, residents can apply for business permits, occupational permits, building permits, scholarships, and request burial and medical assistance. The portal also allows users to pay real property taxes online.
The platform aims to reduce the need for residents to make trips to government offices, particularly during periods when transportation costs are rising.
For those who still prefer in-person transactions, the local government said residents may visit their nearest District Action Office, where personnel can assist them with various service requests without requiring a trip to city hall.
The city government is also continuing its QCity Bus Libreng Sakay program, which provides free rides for commuters across eight routes throughout the city.
The program was launched to help residents cope with transportation expenses and improve mobility within Quezon City.
“We will continue to find innovative ways to ease the burden on our residents, especially during times when global events affect everyday expenses,” Mayor Belmonte said.
“Through our digital services, district action offices, free bus rides, and bike-friendly infrastructure, we want to ensure that QCitizens have practical, accessible options that help them save on transportation while staying connected to essential city services,” she added.
