Marantan is new Calabarzon top cop

Police Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan was designated as the new regional director of Calabarzon in a latest minor revamp in the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Marantan will replace Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, who in turn, was named as the new director of the PNP’s elite Special Action Force (SAF)—a two star position.
Calabarzon covers the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon.
The position vacated by Marantan as director of the Highway Patrol Group will be taken over by Brig. Gen. Jessie Tamayao.
The revamp was triggered by the looming retirement of Police Maj. Gen. Mark Pespes, the outgoing SAF director.
The revamp order took effect on Monday, March 9.
