LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – The local government unit of Guinobatan in Albay province is implementing a four-day work week starting Monday, March 9, in response to rising fuel costs due to tensions in the Middle East.
Mayor Ann Gemma Onjoco announced the new work scheme through a public advisory, saying the measure follows the directive of Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. under Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 114.
Under the arrangement, employees of the municipal government will work from Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays will be non-working days.
Onjoco said that despite the shortened work week, emergency, social, and other frontline services of the municipal government will continue to operate and provide uninterrupted assistance to the people.
The mayor advised the people to plan their transactions with the municipal government accordingly while it remains in effect.
The directive will remain in place until further notice.
