CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – The provincial government is adopting a four-day work week beginning Monday, March 9, to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices due to tensions in the Middle East.
Gov. Humerlito A. Dolor has issued Executive Order No. 4, Series of 2026, dated March 6 stating that employees at the provincial capitol shall work from Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. or 10 hours daily. The order still follows the 40 working hours per week under Civil Service Commission rules and regulations.
Dolor said air-conditioning units should only be switched on 15 minutes before and switched off after the official office hours unless continued use is necessary.
Garbage hauling, which involves the use of government vehicles, will be done only twice a week, Dolor said.
Government vehicles will be strictly used for official purposes only and supported by valid travel order, trip ticket, and locator slip, he said.
Ambulances, disaster response vehicles, and heavy equipment for emergency operations, public safety, or disaster management are exempted.
Dolor said that vehicles owned by the capitol shall be surrendered, including their keys, at the designated official station after office hours every Thursday.
He said all travels outside the province must have prior written approval from him and trainings or seminars will only be held in premises owned by the provincial government.
