DAVAO CITY – Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza has reminded her constituents to tighten their belts and implement measures to mitigate the looming impact of Middle East conflict on the local economy.
Mendoza issued the reminder as the crisis may disrupt oil supply chains and spike inflation.
She urged the implementation of energy-saving measures not just in government offices but also in all sectors in the province.
Mendoza urged people to avoid unnecessary travels and encouraged government offices to implement carpooling.
The governor directed government offices to limit official travels. She encouraged the use of online platforms to hold meetings and trainings whenever possible.
“I’m urging everyone in the province to be responsible and cooperate in implementing these measures,” she said.
The governor echoed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call to implement energy-saving measures due to the looming fuel crisis.
Mendoza prayed for the safety of thousands of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in the region.
