Chicken McDo campaign highlights crispier, juicier fried chicken
McDonald's Philippines promotes upgraded preparation and new P99 meal offering
McDonald's Philippines is highlighting its bone-in fried chicken offering with a campaign encouraging customers to share their appreciation for its Chicken McDo, described by the brand as “napakasarap, napakacrispy and napakajuicy.”
The company said it has strengthened its fried chicken offering over the past two years, introducing a larger portion size and adjustments to preparation methods aimed at improving flavor and texture.
“We’ve really upped our fried chicken game for the past two years by introducing a bigger, juicier, crispier and more shareable Chicken McDo, which is increasingly being well-loved and is becoming the fried chicken of choice for many Filipinos. We’ve seen how some of our fans online are tastifying about their love for Chicken McDo and we want to celebrate that,” said Ada Almendras-Lazaro, chief marketing officer of McDonald’s Philippines.
According to the company, Chicken McDo’s crisp texture and juicy interior come from changes in its cooking process. Pieces of chicken are fried in smaller batches to help ensure even cooking, while an updated marination process allows the seasoning to penetrate more fully into each piece.
“We are dedicated to making sure each Chicken McDo experience satisfies our customers, so that they can confidently recommend it to their friends and loved ones,” Ada said.
The meal is available as a one-piece Chicken McDo with rice and a regular drink priced at P99. Starting March 6, customers can also order a one-piece Chicken McDo meal with rice, a drink and a Sundae cone.
Customers can order through dine-in, takeout, drive-thru or delivery through McDelivery and partner platforms including GrabFood and Foodpanda.
