Rosales gasoline stations warned vs unreasonable oil price hikes
ROSALES, Pangasinan – Mayor Liam Cezar on Sunday warned gasoline stations here from imposing unreasonable fuel price increases.
He said they monitored 22 gasoline stations from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday as motorists rushed to refuel two days before a big-time oil price hike due to the Middle East conflict.
Monitoring showed varying pump prices.
Gasoline stations in other towns reported limited supply or posted “Out of Stock” signs due to the surge in demand.
Cezar said that while they understand the situation, business owners must not exploit consumers during this time.
He said they are monitoring prices every three hours to ensure fair pricing.
Cezar said that any gasoline station proven to be taking advantage of motorists will face strict action from the local government, including revocation of business permits.
