Man stabs tricycle driver over alleged conflict involving woman in Marikina
A 28-year-old man, working as a merchandiser, was arrested for stabbing a tricycle driver over an alleged conflict involving a woman in Marikina City on Friday, March 6.
Based on the investigation by the Marikina City Police Station, the 25-year-old victim, identified as “Percival,” and the suspect, “Jomel,” had a previous misunderstanding and conflict involving the former live-in partner of the victim, identified as “Margie.”
Prior to the incident, for an undisclosed reason, authorities said that the victim was about to fetch “Margie” from her work when he saw her together with the suspect at the corner of Magsaysay and G. Del Pilar Streets in Barangay Parang around 10 p.m.
It prompted the victim to approach and be about to confront the suspect when a brief physical altercation ensued between them.
Suddenly, the victim noticed that the suspect had stabbed him on the left side of his back with a Swiss knife, causing an injury.
The victim was able to run and call for help. He was immediately rushed to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center (ARMMC), where he was admitted.
Meanwhile, the suspect was quickly arrested after being cornered by bystanders in the area. He is currently detained at the Marikina City Police Station Male Custodial Facility and may face charges for frustrated murder.
