Korea-based Filipino singing sensation Gwyn Dorado, who wowed judges and viewers of the Korean TV show “Sing Again 4,” said she was happy to return to the Philippines.
“It feels surreal. I’m only here for like a day or two but definitely looking forward to seeing my family and friends,” Dorado told Manila Bulletin.
Dorado, 21, is charting her career as a singer in South Korea after placing second on “Sing Again 4,” a show on Korean channel JTBC.
She returned to the Philippines and became a judge on March 4 at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila for the “Everyone’s KPOP: Battle of the Champions” competition organized by the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
The event became more special with the presence of South Korea’s First Lady Kim Hea Kyung who accompanied President Lee Jae Myung in his state visit to the Philippines on March 3 and 4.

Also serving as judges at the event were Ciel Oh, a celebrated K-pop instructor of many K-entertainment personalities, who is leading K-pop Academy of KCC in the Philippines, and choreographer Lia Kim, co-founder of 1Million Dance Studio in Seoul.
At the event, Dorado also sang her version of “Rebirth” by Korean singer Yoon Jong Shin. She performed the song during “Sing Again 4.”
Dorado said she was glad to be a judge at the K-pop event in Manila.
“This is my first time being a judge so I really hope what I do can help the contestants and give them motivation. More than that, I'm excited to learn from the contestants. I know they've worked hard and practiced so I can't wait to be inspired by their masterpieces,” she said before the event.
It was one of the many opportunities that have come her way since “Sing Again 4.”
“I’m still not sure how to actually take in everything that’s been happening but these opportunities that keep coming my way just makes me happy and more motivated to do better in my craft. Also, honestly, I can’t wait to experience hot weather again!” she said.

It was a short but sweet time. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Til next time!!” she added.
