Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized around P374,000 worth following a buy-bust in Navotas City on Firday, March 6.
Police Lt. Col. Christopher L. Navida, officer-in-charge of the PNP- Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit National Capital Region, said the operation stemmed from a confirmed intelligence report of the involvement of the suspect in the proliferation of illegal drugs in Navotas.
Police poseur-buyer was able to arrange a transaction with the 24-year old suspect and later resulted in his arrest along North Bay Boulevard North on Friday night.
Seized during the operation were two containers of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated total weight of approximately 55 grams.
Also recovered were the buy-bust money consisting of a genuine ₱1,000 bill placed on top of bundled boodle money, along with a white mailing envelope used during the illegal transaction.
“This successful buy-bust operation demonstrates our continued commitment to dismantling illegal drug activities in our communities,” said Navida.
“Through sustained intelligence-driven operations and strong coordination with local police units, we will continue to pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade and hold them accountable under the law,” he added.
The arrested suspect is currently under PDEG custody and facing a case of violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
