President Marcos greeted his son, Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandra Marcos, on his birthday with a lighthearted message asking when he might finally have a grandchild.
The younger Marcos turned 32 on March 7.
In a Facebook post, the President expressed pride in his eldest son, recalling how the young boy he once knew had grown into a public servant.
“To my son Sandro, we are so proud of the good man you have become. Who would have known that our little child would grow into such a kind, industrious and talented man?” he wrote.
He ended his message with a playful remark: “On a final note… where’s my apo? Happy birthday, son!”
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos also shared a birthday greeting for Sandro, praising his character and dedication.
“Happy birthday, Sandro. You make us proud every day — with your heart, your discipline, and your sense of duty,” she said.
“Keep shining and keep going. The journey is just beginning. Love always, Mom,” she added.
This was not the first time President Marcos expressed his desire to finally have grandchildren. He said in one of his vlogs in December last year that the topic has become a familiar refrain at home.
“Ang lagi naming tinatanong sa tatlong anak kong lalaki, ba’t wala pa kaming apo (What we always ask our three sons is, why don’t we have any grandchildren yet)?” the President said.
The First Lady quickly chimed in, echoing the sentiment with a smile.
“Tama ’yan, honey. Sana all. ’Yan yung Christmas wish ko (That’s right, honey. How I wish. That’s my Christmas wish),” she said.
In an interview with the Manila Bulletin in October 2025, Marcos was asked what advice he would give to anyone hoping to make him a grandfather.
“Well, I’m at the stage in my life where I would say, yes, please,” he said.
“But I would also add good luck. Knowing my sons, good luck with that,” he added.
In 2024, Marcos revealed that he had gifted his eldest son, Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos, a tongue-in-cheek book titled “Sex for Lazy People” for his 30th birthday.
“It will help you,” the President said in a 2024 vlog, holding up the book and laughing.
“I found you this guide,” he added, joking that his son was already “practically a senior.”
The book “Sex for Lazy People” is written by Ginny Hogan, a writer and stand-up comic based in New York City. It is described as a humorous go-to guide for making “all sex positions as easy and effortless as possible so you can get more bang for your f*ck.”
It features 50 positions and hilarious and helpful tips and tricks for staying lazy while having sex.
The First Lady, for her part, gifted Sandro a different kind of encouragement, giving him a book titled Be More Taylor, which focuses on life lessons, creativity, and relationships.
