The delegation from Tanay, led by Mayor Rex Tanjuatco and Nelson Ocampo, chairman of the Housing Committee of the Tanay Municipal Council, was warmly welcomed by Pasay City officials led by Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano during the signing ceremony.
Rubiano said the agreement outlines the cooperation between the LGUs in providing essential services and support programs for families relocated to the housing site in Sitio Sampiro.
She added that the initiative also aims to ensure that housing units are awarded to rightful and qualified beneficiaries.
Aside from ensuring the delivery of basic services to relocatees, Rubiano said the initiative also seeks to promote proper screening and verification of beneficiaries occupying housing units at the relocation site.
The provisions of the agreement will be implemented under the leadership of Rubiano and through the continuous coordination of several city offices. These include the Urban Development and Housing Office, Pasay Social Welfare and Development Department, City Health Office, Public Employment Service Office, City Engineering Office, City Planning and Development Office, General Services Office, City Legal Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Pasay City Environment and Natural Resources Office, and the City Budget Office.
The partnership between Pasay City and Tanay reflects the implementation of Rubiano’s governance framework and aligns with the H.E.L.P. Priority Agenda on Housing, which aims to provide honest, responsive, and more than adequate public service to the city’s residents.
