David Licauco makes winning debut at Hyrox Taiwan Fitness Racing Challenge

Kapuso actor David Licauco has just proven his mettle as a world-class athlete with his exceptional finish at the HYROX Taiwan, held from Feb. 28 to March 1, 2026.

With his total time of 1:07:48, he emerged as the #1 Filipino in the Men's Open Division in Asia, as well as the #2 Filipino in the World Overall Open Men's Division.

With nearly 2,000 participants from across the globe, David ranked 53rd overall and 19th in the 30-34 age group.

HYROX is gaining popularity as a hybrid fitness race that combines running with functional workout stations.

Participants run 1 kilometer, then complete 1 functional workout station, repeating the cycle 8 times for a truly high-intensity challenge of cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength.

David is scheduled to compete again at the HYROX Hong Kong in May.

David's ongoing GMA-7 series, 'Never Say Die,' aptly captures his sheer determination and winning mindset, which empowered him throughout his latest athletic challenge.

David's manager, Arnold Vegafria, proudly commends his victory.

Vegafria remarks, "I've always known David as an exceptional basketball player, but I admire him all the more now for leveling up his stature as a world-class athlete and fitness icon. With his recent victory, he can be a deserving role model and aspirational peg for today's youth."
