Lastimosa shines as Rookie-Sophomore edges Juniors

CANDON CITY — Jerom Lastimosa put on a show as the Rookie-Sophomore team took down the Juniors squad, 154-150, in the RSJ game in the PBA Season 50 ArenaPlus All-Star weekend at the Candon City Arena on Friday, March 6 here.

CANDON CITY — Jerom Lastimosa put on a show as the Rookie-Sophomore team took down the Juniors squad, 154-150, in the RSJ game in the PBA Season 50 ArenaPlus All-Star weekend at the Candon City Arena on Friday, March 6 here.

The second year guard took charge in the waning minutes, finishing with a double-double of 27 points and 10 assists to help his team keep the Juniors squad at bay.

The Rookie-Sophomore team claimed the winning prize of P200,000, while Lastimosa won an extra P50,000 after being adjudged as the RSJ MVP.

Brandon Ramirez took advantage of the new blitz three rule where a player can score three points if he makes a basket seven seconds after gaining possession, finishing with 26 points and 10 rebounds.

Kai Ballungay chipped in 20 while Dalph Panopio had 17 for the Rookie-Sophomore team that featured PBA greats Willie Miller and Arwind Santos.

Ricci Rivero paced the Juniors team with 30 points and 10 rebounds while Schonny Winston fired 29. Ken Tuffin added 23 while MJ Garcia had 15 for the Juniors team which had Ranidel de Ocampo

The Juniors team, however, got a consolation prize after winning the dance off and the prize amounting to P75,000.
