VinFast Philippines partners with Maybank to power EV financing

VinFast announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Maybank Philippines to provide financial solutions supporting its electric vehicle (EV) battery subscription policy in the market. This agreement marks a significant milestone in VinFast’s efforts to expand its comprehensive EV ecosystem in the Philippines, as the automaker officially launches cooperation with the first bank in the country to support its battery subscription program, thereby maximizing access to green mobility for consumers.
Under the MOU, Filipino customers purchasing VinFast’s EVs with battery subscription will gain access to integrated financing solutions from Maybank, including tailored loan packages with competitive interest rates and flexible payment options, helping optimize upfront investment costs as well as long-term ownership expenses.
The collaboration with Maybank is an ideal addition to the comprehensive EV ecosystem VinFast is building in the Philippines, in which its pioneering battery subscription policy serves as a strategic component to realize the company’s commitment to making EV more accessible to everyone.
Under the battery subscription purchase model, Filipino customers can own a VinFast electric vehicle with up to 20-percent lower upfront ownership costs, instead paying a monthly battery subscription fee. In addition, separating the battery cost from the vehicle price helps address common concerns regarding battery performance and lifespan. Throughout the subscription period, batteries will be maintained free of charge and replaced at no cost once capacity falls below 70 percent, ensuring peace of mind throughout the ownership journey.
Through its partnership with Maybank, VinFast continues to reaffirm its long-term investment commitment in the Philippines, while advancing its goal of making EVs a practical, flexible option aligned with the daily mobility needs of consumers. For Maybank, the partnership reinforces the bank’s proactive role in supporting new mobility models and driving the green transition.
