Marcos to attend first 'Trabaho@Negosyo' job fair, mentoring event
President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.
President Marcos is set to attend the launch of the country’s first Trabaho@Negosyo event on Saturday, March 6, at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, an initiative aimed at promoting both job creation and entrepreneurship.
The event, organized by Go Negosyo, combines a job fair and entrepreneurship mentoring in one venue to help Filipinos access employment opportunities and business support services.
Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion said the initiative is designed to make employment and small-business development more accessible to the public.
“Trabaho@Negosyo will bring job-placement services, skills workshops, and entrepreneurship mentoring directly to the people,” Concepcion said.
He explained that the program is built on two pillars—job creation and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development.
“To create inclusive and sustainable growth, we must expand both pathways simultaneously,” he added.
Jobs and entrepreneurship support
During the event, private companies and organizations will set up booths where job seekers can explore available openings.
Entrepreneurship mentors from Go Negosyo will also provide free mentoring sessions for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs.
Plenary learning sessions and partner booths from government agencies will also be available for participants seeking guidance on employment, business registration, and other services.
MSMEs key to job creation
Concepcion emphasized the role of entrepreneurship as a major source of employment.
“When we empower a Filipino to start a business, we are not just helping one person; we are creating a fountain of opportunity for dozens, and eventually hundreds, of others,” he said.
Micro, small, and medium enterprises generate the majority of jobs in the Philippines, accounting for about 6.25 million jobs or 66.57 percent of total employment.
Micro enterprises contribute the largest share at 34.24 percent, followed by small enterprises at 25.66 percent, and medium enterprises at 6.67 percent, while large enterprises account for 33.42 percent of employment.
Trabaho@Negosyo is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Pasay City government, the Pasay Public Employment Service Office, and the Private Sector Advisory Council’s Jobs sector.
