Crime of passion: Man stabbed in Rizal over alleged illicit relationship
A man was injured after he was stabbed for having an alleged illicit affair with the suspect's live-in partner in Barangay Pinugay, Baras, Rizal, the Baras Municipal Police said Wednesday, March 4.
According to the police, the incident happened on March 1 in Southville 9 after the suspect, identified as "Nelson," forcefully entered the victim's home and stabbed him multiple times on his body.
The victim was able to escape from Nelson and quickly sought help from nearby residents, prompting the suspect to flee on foot.
The victim was rushed to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina and is now recuperating from his injuries.
Further investigation showed the victim and Nelson already had a prior altercation before the stabbing after it was alleged that the suspect’s live-in partner was engaged in an illicit relationship with the victim.
A hot-pursuit operation was launched against Nelson who will be facing frustrated murder charges.
