Two men, including a 64-year-old, died after being hit by a fast-moving car while crossing the Marcos Highway in Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City on Tuesday, March 3.
According to the Antipolo City Component Police Station (Antipolo CCPS), the incident occurred in front of a gasoline station at around 8:27 p.m. after a sedan, driven by “John,” allegedly attempted to overtake another vehicle but failed to notice the victims, identified as “Jerry” and “Chris,” crossing the road.
Due to the strong impact, both victims were thrown to the ground and sustained serious injuries.
The victims were brought to the hospital, but Chris was declared dead on arrival, while Jerry was pronounced dead during resuscitation.
Authorities said the driver is now in the custody of Police Community Precinct 3, while further investigation is ongoing.
