A Manila traffic enforcer earned praise from the city government after turning over a bank check she found while on duty.
Norma Olid, a traffic enforcer of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB), discovered a BDO check made payable to ATCC Construction and Development Corporation and immediately reported and surrendered it to proper authorities.
Rather than leaving the matter unattended, Olid ensured the check would be safely kept and properly returned to its rightful owner.
The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau announced that the check may be claimed at the MTPB office located at Room 353, 3rd Floor, Manila City Hall, A. Villegas Street, Ermita, Manila.
Officials advised that anyone claiming the check must present documents proving a legitimate connection or authorization from ATCC Construction and Development Corporation.
The Manila City government commended Olid for her integrity, saying her action reflects the values of honesty and public service that city employees are expected to uphold.
“Isang taos-pusong pagpupugay sa katapatan at integridad ni Norma Olid (A heartfelt salute to the honesty and integrity of Norma Olid),” the city government said in a statement.
