Police probe arson in Zamboanga City market fire

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police are investigating the possibility of arson in a fire at the public market here last Thursday, Feb.26.

Mayor Khymer Olaso said video footage captured a young boy running outside the market minutes after the fire broke out.

Police are identifying the boy considered as key to the investigation.

Initial findings also showed that huge quantities of styrofoam stored inside the market fueled the fire and spread quickly as a result.

Damage to property was estimated at P18.1 million.
