Twenty-five days before Palm Sunday, a mall in Bulacan opened its annual “Korona at Pako” Lenten Exhibit on Wednesday, March 4, in partnership with the Hermandad de la Ascension del Señor of Parokya ng Pag-akyat sa Langit ni Hesukristo.

Many Bulakenyos expressed joy over the exhibit, saying it helps them meditate and prepare spiritually before Palm Sunday, the first day of Holy Week, which falls on March 29.

Palm Sunday is one of the most significant celebrations of the faith, when thousands of devotees gather at Catholic churches across the country, waving palm fronds to be blessed by priests during Holy Mass.

According to the Bayani and Maniego families, the exhibit is valuable because it allows them to explain Holy Week more easily to their children through the images on display.

They said the “Korona at Pako” Lenten Exhibit, showcased at the SM Center Pulilan atrium, emphasizes faith and tradition while displaying artistry and rich symbolism that inspire spiritual reflection and renewal.

The display features at least 70 sacred images from various communities in Bulacan. It is expected to draw devotees from within and outside the province, guiding them on a spiritual journey while promoting catechism.

The exhibit highlights the pivotal events leading up to Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection, while honoring Mary, the Holy Mother of God, His disciples, apostles, and remarkable saints. It will run until March 7. (Freddie Velez)
