On social media, broadcaster Karen Davila, along with actors Jasmine Curtis and Gabbi Garcia, called out the congressman's behavior.
Karen wrote, "A congressman. A representative of the people. Paid by the nation. A husband, a father with daughters.

"Without the consciousness, knowledge of decency of how women should be talked about. Please keep your sick thoughts to yourself.
"More than striking his comments off the record, he should apologize. Women's Month pa talaga," wrote Karen.
Jasmine, sister of Anne, stated, "This moment is not about one female celebrity. It is about how ALL WOMEN, regardless of profession, continue to be reduced to bodies in spaces dominated by men in power.

"When a congressman publicly narrates his 'desire' and imagination about a woman he once saw (or dreams he saw, idk his statements keep changing), it reinforces a culture that treats women as consumable, as spectacle, as fantasy, as objects for commentary rather than as whole human beings with agency, intellect, and autonomy.
"Public office carries with it the responsibility to elevate discourse, not diminish it. The halls of government should be spaces where women are discussed for their contributions, their ideas, and their leadership — not as imagined scenarios.
"We cannot continue excusing this as “just being honest” or “just a compliment.” It is neither.
"Respect is not complicated. If we want safer environments for our daughters, nieces, and future leaders, accountability must begin with those elected to represent us," said Jasmine.
Gabbi Garcia
Gabbi stated, "If you hold power, act like it. Objectifying women, even in passing remarks, is unacceptable.
"We are not here to be reduced to someone's imagination. NAKAKADIRI," the actress said.
Nadine Lustre's post read, "Nakakainit talaga. Nakakaiinit ng ulo at ng dugo ang mga taong walang habas na ipinangangalandakan ang kabastusan sa mga kababaihan. (It's infuriating and deeply disturbing to witness people openly boasting about their mistreatment of women.)"
On Tuesday, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte slammed Suntay over remarks he made at the House of Representatives, urging him to take accountability and issue a public apology.
The lawmaker made the statements during a House impeachment hearing, invoking a high-profile celebrity to illustrate what he described as a personal “desire.”
“Alam niyo minsan, minsan nasa Shangri-La ako, nakita ko si Anne Curtis, ang ganda-ganda pala niya. You know, may desire sa loob ko na, nag-init talaga, na-imagine ko na lang kung ano’ng pwedeng mangyari pero siyempre hanggang imagination na lang ’yon. Pero ‘di naman siguro ako pwedeng kasuhan kung ano ang na-imagine ko eh (You know, once, I was in Shangri-La, I saw Anne Curtis, she was so beautiful. You know, there was a desire inside me, it really got hot, I could just imagine what could happen but of course that was just imagination. But I guess I can't be sued for what I imagined),” he said.
Mayor Belmonte said Suntay’s words “directly contradict” the spirit of empowerment that the Quezon City government has championed.
