Drunk man crashes delivery van into house he thought was his own in QC

A man who admitted he was drunk crashed a delivery van into the yard of a house in Barangay Kamias, Quezon City, on Wednesday, March 4.

According to the Quezon City Police District–Traffic Enforcement Unit (QCPD-TEU), the vehicle’s driver had reportedly left the van with the keys inside while he stepped away to urinate. His companion allegedly took the vehicle and drove it, causing damage.

Police said the van first rammed a compound gate and at least three parked vehicles before crashing into the yard and roof of a nearby house.

The suspect later told authorities that he thought the house was his own.

Authorities said the man sustained minor injuries and admitted he was intoxicated.

The suspect also claimed that his companions had encouraged him to drink, which led him to approach the vehicle and mistakenly believe it was his room.

The vehicle was removed from the area at around 4:05 p.m.

The suspect was brought to the police station for investigation and is expected to face charges for damage to property.
