Basketball legend Ramon Fernandez stays true to his advocacy of helping grassroots sports with the third edition of the El Presidente Cup on April 24 at the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas, Cavite.
The four-time PBA MVP, known for his beginnings as a former professional player and later on as a sports commissioner, is staging another fun but competitive tournament to raise funds for the initiatives of the Ramos S. Fernandez Sports and Youth Development Foundation.
Backed by the Philippine Sports Commission, Cebu Landmasters, and Pryce Gas, the golf competition aims to help sustain the career of Charles Serdenia who has committed to play for the Southern Utah University as he tries to harness his skill and go up against the best in the US.
The entry fee is P8,000 for regular players, and P5,000 for Orchard members. It includes green fees, golf cart sharing, giveaways, meals, and raffle prizes.
Aside from Serdenia, Fernandez has supported promising but underfunded young athletes and assisted in providing educational opportunities through scholarships.
