BAGUIO CITY – Police said on Wednesday, March 4, that 245,000 individuals watched the two grand parades of the 30th Panagbenga Festival here.
Baguio City Police Office chief Police Col. Ruel Tagel said 45,000 people watched the grand street dancing parade. On the other hand, the grand float parade was seen by 200,000 persons.
Tagel said 12 police drones monitored the parade and the crowd on Session and Harrison Roads.
A total of 2,000 police officers served as crowd control, resulting in a peaceful and orderly performance.
He attributed the successful event to comprehensive safety, security, and incident planning, a series of coordination meetings, simulation exercises, and thorough walkthroughs.
Tagel thanked local government units, other law enforcement agencies, event organizers, emergency response teams, volunteers, and media partners for their support.
