The Provincial Government of Bulacan said the March campaign reaffirms its commitment to protecting communities from fire-related incidents and other hazards associated with extreme heat.
The month-long observance was highlighted by the Fire Prevention Month 2026 motorcade, which served as a province-wide information drive to promote fire safety, household risk reduction, and preventive measures, particularly during the summer months when fire cases typically increase.
To support the campaign, the PDRRMO lined up a series of preparedness and capacity-building activities throughout March.
These include the Basic Aquatic Safety and Rescue Training set on March 10 to 13 at Malolos Resorts Club Royale.
A Technical Training on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) response will be conducted on March 16 to 20 at the PDRRMO Training Room in the Capitol Compound.
This will be followed by a Communication and Flood Drill on March 24 at the PDRRMO Operations Center.
An Emergency Vehicle Operations Course focusing on ambulance operations is scheduled on March 25 to 27 at the Angat MDRRMO.
Meanwhile, the Enhanced Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Planning – Training of Trainers will be held from March 23 to 27 at the Capitol Compound hostel.
According to the PDRRMO, fire incidents tend to increase during the dry season due to extreme heat, overloaded electrical systems, and improper handling of flammable materials.
The activities aim to strengthen both institutional readiness and community awareness on fire prevention and disaster preparedness.
Personnel also distributed information, education, and communication materials to Provincial Government of Bulacan employees and residents to further boost fire safety awareness at the community level.
The PDRRMO urged the public to observe fire safety practices, regularly inspect electrical connections and appliances, and immediately report potential fire hazards.
For fire incidents and other emergencies, Bulakenyos are advised to call the 911 emergency hotline.
