Man stabbed dead by neighbor in Rizal; suspect arrested

A 48-year-old man was arrested for stabbing his neighbor to death during a heated confrontation in Barangay San Roque, Cainta, Rizal, on Monday, March 2.
The Cainta Municipal Police Station (Cainta MPS) said the incident occurred while the victim, identified as “Toti,” was scavenging along Nursery Road in front of One Cainta Village, Building 2, at around 2:40 p.m.
Authorities said the suspect, who was allegedly intoxicated, suddenly approached the victim, triggering a heated confrontation. Police did not disclose the reason for the altercation.
During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly drew a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim twice in different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed to Cainta Municipal Hospital but was pronounced dead at around 3:35 p.m.
The suspect was also immediately arrested, and the weapon he used was recovered.
Authorities are investigating the incident, while the suspect is currently detained at the Cainta Municipal Police Station Custodial Facility.
