'Heist naku!': Four convenience stores in Rizal robbed overnight by riding-in-tandem group
Four branches of a famous convenience store chain were robbed by riding-in-tandem men from 10:58 p.m. of March 1 to 12:30 a.m. of March 2, taking with them more than P330,000 worth of cash and other items, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) reported.
The police said the robbers first attacked the NHA Avenue branch of the convenience store located in Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City, at around 10:58 p.m. of March 1.
The victims said two armed motorcycle-riding men suddenly entered the store and declared a hold-up as they threatened the store's staff and customers. One of the suspects poked the forehead of one of the staff with his gun as he demanded him to open the store's vault.
The robbers took with them P105,851 worth of cash sales before escaping on their motorcycle.
They subsequently attacked the C. Lawis Extension branch of the store in Barangay Isidro.
Using the same modus as the NHA Avenue branch robbers, the suspects were able to steal P96,750 worth of store sales and the shoulder bag of one of the customers.
Later that evening, the two robbers attacked the Corazon C. Aquino Avenue branch of the store in Barangay Poblacion, Teresa, Rizal, at around 11:47 p.m., taking with them P86,287.
They also robbed the convenience store's Manila East Road branch in Barangay Halayhayin, Pililla, Rizal, on March 2 at around 12:30 a.m., taking with them P42,000 worth of the store's sales.
The police are on a manhunt against the suspects who remain at large.
Investigations into the four robberies are still ongoing.
