Police arrested a driver of a popular ride-hailing app who was listed as the No. 8 most wanted person at the regional level in Pasay City on Monday, March 2.
Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspect as Russel, 23, a resident of M. Dela Cruz Street, Barangay 130, Pasay City, and an alleged member of the Sputnik gang. He was arrested along Virginia Extension, Barangay 130.
De Sesto said members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section, in coordination with Substation 4, served multiple arrest warrants against the suspect, who is facing charges in Makati and Pasay.
In Makati, Russel is facing charges of attempted homicide in relation to Republic Act (RA) 11235, or the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act, under a warrant issued on Oct. 7, 2025 by Judge Filipina Geronimo of the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 143. Recommended bail was set at P72,000.
He is also charged with robbery with attempted homicide, also in relation to RA 11235, under a warrant issued on Oct. 22, 2025 by Judge Alexius Pardo Tang of Makati RTC Branch 139, with recommended bail set at P120,000.
In Pasay City, two additional warrants were issued against Russel. Judge Shiels Marie Valencia Sison-Javier of Pasay RTC Branch 167 issued a warrant on April 11, 2024 for a theft case, with recommended bail set at P10,000.
Another warrant was issued on Oct. 7, 2022 by Judge Racquelen Abary Varquez of Pasay RTC Branch 116 for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. No bail was recommended for this charge.
