CAVITE – The police have traced the car that was used used to drop off a 19-year-old student at a hospital in General Trias City, where he died from injuries sustained in a suspected hazing incident on March 1.

In a statement on Tuesday, March 3, the Cavite Police Provincial Office (Cavite PPO) identified the victim as alias Ken, a first-year student of a maritime school and a resident of Dasmariñas City.

The police report said that on March 1, three unidentified men on board a car took the unconscious victim to the General Trias Medical Hospital in Barangay Manggahan.

Two of the men got out of the vehicle to ask hospital staff to assist with unloading the victim, telling them that he had allegedly been involved in a hit-and-run incident. They hurriedly left without providing further details.

The examining physician discovered multiple bruises on the victim’s body, including his thighs, with the nature and pattern raising suspicion of hazing.

The Cavite PPO said the car used to drop off the victim at the hospital was a Mitsubishi Mirage, whose ownership had been transferred several times. The car was reportedly being used by an individual identied as alias JM, who is also a maritime school student.

The investigation is still ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and identify all persons involved.

Authorities are awaiting the official autopsy findings to determine the exact cause of death of alias Ken.

“No parent should ever have to face the pain of losing a child in this manner,” Cavite PPO director Col. Ariel R. Red said in a statement.

“If proven to be hazing, this is a betrayal of trust and a grave violation of the law. We assure the public that we are leaving no stone unturned in identifying and arresting all responsible individuals.”

Red urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist authorities in ensuring justice is served.
