The Caloocan City government announced on Tuesday, March 3, the implementation of “Car-Free Sundays” along 9th Street in Grace Park East, Caloocan City–South, to promote fitness and community engagement.
According to the city’s Public Information Office, the initiative is being carried out under City Ordinance No. 1158, Series of 2025.
“An ordinance providing for the temporary closure of 9th Street in Caloocan City for jogging activities from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and for other purposes,” the ordinance stated.
The local government said the program aims to give residents a safe and accessible space for exercise while encouraging a healthier lifestyle.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes during the hours of closure.
