Teenager kills cousin, 13, and boy, 12, in Rizal

An 18-year-old boy was arrested for killing his 13-year-old female cousin and a 12-year-old boy in a drunken fit of rage after he was turned down by the girl he was courting in Barangay San Juan, Morong, Rizal, on Sunday, March 1.

According to Morong Municipal Police Chief Maj. Elmer Rabano, the families of the victims reported the children as missing on March 1 after they failed to come home after going to a computer shop the day before, Feb. 28.

As the police and the victims' families were conducting their search, concerned citizens reported the discovery of two bodies with multiple stab wounds at the Old Cemetery in Sitio Namay later that afternoon, who were later identified as the missing children.

The police were also able to apprehend the suspect of the crime, who was found out to be the cousin of the female victim.

Rabano said the suspect was initially helping in the search for the missing children when one of the police investigators noticed his bloodied hands. This led him to admit to killing the victims.

“Nung makita ng imbestigador natin, napansin 'yung kanyang kamay na may sugat at may bakas pa ng dugo. Kaya nung tanungin siya, dun na po inamin niya 'yung krimen (One of our investigators noticed the teenage boy's bloodied hands and wounds. When he was asked about it, he admitted that he was the one who killed the victims)," the official said, adding the suspect revealed to them where he disposed of the knife he used in the stabbing. 

Further investigation revealed the suspect, who was under the influence of liquor at that time, asked the victims to accompany and console him after he was turned down by the girl he was courting.

He subsequently lost control of himself due to the effects of liquor and fatally stabbed the two kids.

Rabano said the suspect first attacked the 12-year-old boy before proceeding to kill his cousin.

The suspect asked for forgiveness for the crime he has committed.

He is currently under the custody of the Morong Municipal Police and is set to appear before the Fiscal for inquest proceedings and the filing of charges.
