CAVITE – Authorities are investigating the death of a male victim in General Trias City, who reportedly succumbed to injuries from suspected hazing on Sunday, March 1.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A stated that three unidentified men on board a car took the unconscious victim to the General Trias Medical Hospital in Barangay Manggahan.
Two of the men got out of the car to ask hospital staff to assist with unloading the victim, while the driver stayed inside.
The men told the hospital staff that the victim had allegedly been involved in a hit-and-run incident.
Within minutes of arriving, the men hurriedly left without providing further details about their identities or the incident.
During the medical examination, the examining physician discovered multiple bruises on the victim’s body, particularly his thighs.
The police report stated that “the extent and distribution of the injuries raised concerns about the nature of the incident.”
Despite efforts by the medical team to revive him, the victim showed no signs of recovery and was declared dead.
The General Trias Component City Police Station is now conducting CCTV backtracking and forward-tracking operations to determine the origin of the incident, identify those involved, and locate the suspects.
A dragnet operation has also been launched in adjacent cities and municipalities.
