MVP orders free PLDT and Smart for OFWs in areas of conflict

PLDT Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan has directed PLDT and Smart Communications to offer free calling services for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) stationed in Middle East countries currently affected by regional conflict.
In a recent statement, Pangilinan emphasized that the "marching order" is to eliminate communication barriers, allowing Filipinos to reach their families in the Philippines—and vice versa—without financial burden during the crisis.
Key details:
• Target Group: OFWs in Middle East conflict zones.
• Service: Free voice calls via PLDT and Smart networks.
• Status: Implementation details are currently being finalized and will be released shortly.
This aims to provide peace of mind to both the migrant workers and their relatives as the situation in the region continues to develop.
