OFFICIALS reopened the Cabagan-Santa Maria Bridge in Isabela Monday.
The Cabagan-Santa Maria Bridge in Isabela reopened Monday, March 2, after the successful installation of a steel bridge connector on its previously collapsed section, restoring a vital link for local commuters.
The reopening ceremony was led by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon, joined by House Speaker Bojie Dy, House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, Gov. Rodito T. Albano, Vice Gov. Kiko Dy, Rep. Tonypet Albano, and local officials.
Bridge reconstruction was completed in just two months following a directive from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and appeals from the people.
The DPWH-Region 2 said the bridge will be open to vehicles with up to three tons gross vehicle weight and 2.5 meters overhead height.
The following measures will be implemented to ensure safety – 24/7 traffic management by local governments and DPWH-Isabela First District Engineering Office and continuous monitoring for any abnormal movement.
The DPWH thanked the public for their cooperation and urged drivers to adhere to the restrictions for a safe crossing.
Locals officials said the bridge will ease travel and boost transport.
