Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando received the Huwarang Filipino Awards 2026 Honoree recognition along with Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, and many others during the “Decades of Excellence” awarding ceremony held at the Music Museum in San Juan City on Friday, Feb. 27.
Fernando was recognized for his steadfast commitment to public service and transformative leadership in the Province of Bulacan.
“Sa ngalan ng Lalawigan ng Bulacan, ako po ay buong pagpapakumbabang nagpapasalamat sa pagkilalang ito. Higit sa isang parangal, ito ay isang paalala na ang tunay na liderato ay nasusukat sa malasakit at hindi sa pagmamalabis sa kapwa, gayundin sa pagdamay sa mga mamamayan lalo na sa mga higit na nangangailangan,” (On behalf of the Province of Bulacan, I humbly thank you for this recognition. More than an award, this is a reminder that true leadership is measured by compassion and not by taking advantage of others, as well as by empathizing with citizens, especially those who are most in need), the governor said.
He dedicated the award to the people of Bulacan, emphasizing that the true exemplars are the hardworking Bulakenyos who continuously strive for a brighter future.
“You are the true role models. You are my inspiration and strength,” he added.
Fernando also reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening provincial programs despite challenges.
“Sa kabila ng maraming pagsubok sa aking pagkatao, lalo pa nating pagtibayin ang ating mga programa para sa edukasyon, kalusugan, kabuhayan, at imprastraktura,” (Despite the many trials I have faced, we will further strengthen our programs for education, health, livelihood, and infrastructure), the Bulacan governor assured.
Other awardees include Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.; actor and former Oriental Mindoro Vice Governor Ejay Falcon; singer Erik Santos; PBA star and San Juan City Councilor James Yap; philanthropist and businessman Joel Cruz; Julius and Tintin Babao; Mark Logan; PAO Chief Atty. Persida Acosta; Pilar Pilapil; Sheryl Cruz; and Sheryn Regis, among others.
