Retooled Converge, guest team Macau highlight Comm's Cup opening twin bill

The souped up Converge team is parading its retooled roster right on the opening day of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup according to the eliminations schedule released by the league office over the weekend.

A clash between Titan Ultra and Terrafirma will serve as the curtain raiser to the new conference.
All eyes, however, should be on Converge’s biggest offseason acquisition in Calvin Abueva, who will be making his debut for the FiberXers alongside NBA-caliber import Kylor Kelley.
Talking about reinforcements, the most decorated import of this batch in 7-foot-3 center Bol Bol will be making his PBA debut on March 20 when defending champion TNT takes on Rain or Shine at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
On the same day, Ginebra and resident import Justin Brownlee will open their bid against Macau.
Other important playdates include the March 21 schedule where Philippine Cup champion San Miguel, likewise, kickstarts its campaign against Titan Ultra. This conference’s Manila Clasico between Ginebra and Magnolia is set on April 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The marquee matchup between Philippine Cup finalists SMB and TNT, on the other hand, is scheduled on March 28 while the rematch of the last Commissioner’s Cup finals between the Kings and the Tropang 5G will be on the final day of eliminations on May 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The PBA will be playing Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the first three weeks before also scheduling Tuesday doubleheaders in the ensuing weeks for a five playdates per week schedule.
Aside from the Big Dome, MOA Arena and Ninoy Aquino Stadium, games are also set to happen at the Ynares Centers in Antipolo and Montalban.
