Two separate operations of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have yielded P349-million worth of counterfeit footwear and manufacturing equipment in Pampanga.
In a news release Saturday, CIDG Director Police Major Gen. Robert Morico II said Pampanga Provincial Field Unit operatives, along with representatives from footwear company Crocs Inc., served search warrants in two warehouses at Golden Haojia Industrial Compound in Barangay Balucuc, Apalit on Feb. 26.
The subject of the two search warrants was not in the area, but the operations were duly witnessed by barangay officials.
The operatives confiscated a total of 1,166 boxes of alleged trademark-infringing Crocs footwear and four units of heavy machinery, assorted paraphernalia, and other equipment.
Morico said it is the policy of the State to protect and secure exclusive rights, intellectual property, and creations, particularly when beneficial to the people. (PNA)
