Muntinlupa's Corro to be reelected as Philippine Councilors League national chairman
Lawyer and Muntinlupa Councilor Raul Corro will be reelected as the national chairman of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL).
His reelection to the position will happen as no one in the PCL is running against him in the national elections that will be held on March 3, prior to the National Congress slated on March 4 to 6 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), which supervises the elections for the league, announced at the close of office hours last Feb. 27, the deadline for the filing of candidacies, that no one filed a candidacy for the position of national chairman, ensuring Corro’s reelection. He will serve for another term until 2028.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my fellow councilors nationwide for this renewed vote of confidence for my leadership of our beloved league. The honor is not just mine alone. This is also for the honor of my beloved City of Muntinlupa where I have served as elected city councilor for the last eight terms,” said Corro.
He added, “I would also like to thank my family for the invaluable support that they have given me as well as my fellow national officers, island and regional officers and provincial and city officers for their continued trust and confidence in me.”
Corro is currently the majority floor leader at the Muntinlupa City Council and is in his last term as councilor.
He said he is looking forward to creating more policies for the PCL that will be implemented during his term for the benefit and welfare of fellow councilors nationwide.
