A total of 23 international flights were cancelled and three more were diverted since the air strikes started in the Middle East on Saturday, Feb. 28, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
CAAP director general Raul del Rosario said they are continuously monitoring the flight operations, “We are closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and are in constant coordination with airlines, airport authorities, and international aviation partners.”
“The CAAP is taking proactive measures, and the security of passengers and flight operations remain our highest priority,” he added.
Based on the CAAP data, eight Philippine Air Lines were cancelled together with six flights of the Emirates, four of the Etihad Airways, two each from Cebu Pacific and Qatar Airways and one from Gulf Air.
Two flights of the Philippine Airlines were also diverted along with an international flight of Qatar Airways.
“The CAAP advises affected passengers to coordinate directly with their respective airlines for rebooking options, refunds, and updated flight information,” it said.
